Term 3 - 'Australia'

For our World Around Us topic this term, we will be focusing on Australia.

Throughout this topic, the children will explore a variety of areas, including:

• Map work, learning about Australian states and territories
• Discovering animals that live in Australia
• Learning all about Captain James Cook
• Comparing and completing temperature graphs
• Using conjunctions to join topic sentences
• Learning about Aboriginal culture and completing related artwork
• Exploring famous landmarks around Australia

Here are some activities you may like to try at home to support your child’s learning in school:

• Reading factual books as well as reading for enjoyment
• Looking at and discussing maps together
• Talking with your child about what they are learning in school

I hope the children enjoy learning about our final topic in Primary 3.
