Our Second Topic

In Term 1B we our topic is 'The Victorians'.
Queen Victoria ruled Britain from 1837 to 1901. During her long reign, many objects and machines we still use today were first invented. These include the telephone, the electric light bulb and the toilet!
🏀🏈🏓 P.E. ⚽️🎾🏐
In P.E. our focus will be on dance - our teachers will teach us the basics of line dancing and other forms of dance. We will think about rhythm and musicality, as well as sequencing movement and motion with our bodies.
Indoor P.E. will take place on Wednesday mornings.
Our outdoor session is every Friday morning (weather permitting) so make sure you have a coat.
Please make sure to wear appropriate P.E. gear and footwear on those days.

🎶🎻🎷 Music 🎷🎻🎶
In Music we get into the groove by exploring rhythm and melody in singing, movement and dance. The children learn about beat, syncopation, pitch and harmony and take a trip around the world to celebrate the universal language of music.
🙏🏻 R.E. : Handing on the Catholic Faith
For those who take part in Grow in Love - the Religion Programme for Study for Catholic Schools - we will be learning about the Prophets of the Old Testament and the nativity of Jesus.

We have studied Hinduism in term 1A.
In Term 1B we will also learn the diverse Christian faith, including different denominations of the Christian Faith.

We have a 15 minute break each morning from 11am to 11.15am. Please make sure to have a healthy snack - fruit, milk/water.

If pupils receive free school meals, parents can log on to the School Money App by EduSpot. Parents should book children in for lunch whether their child is receiving paid or free school dinners. School dinners cost £2.60.

🕊️ The Sacrament of Confirmation 🕊️
The date of Confirmation is Thursday 19th February 2026. The children will prepare for the Sacrament in class as part of their R.E. studies.
The ceremony begins at 11am and children should be seated in the church with their sponsor from 10.30am.

We wish our children the very best of luck and will do everything we can to help them to prepare and keep their anxiety levels under control, as this can be a stressful period for families. We are always proud of our pupils.
